This series is designed to introduce you to the basics of quilting! Created with the absolute beginner in mind, we'll work all the way from fabric selection through binding, hitting every step in between. You'll work on building foundational skills that will give you the confidence to continue new quilting projects after you finish the series.

  • How to read a quilt pattern and select appropriate fabric
  • How to use a rotary cutter and ruler to measure and cut with precision
  • Constructing, pressing, and trimming your quilt blocks
  • Finishing your quilt by sandwiching, quilting, and binding

  • 3 one-yard cuts of three coordinating fabrics
  • Throw size batting
  • 3 yards backing fabric

  • Pattern: Quilts in a Jiffy by Donna Robertson (Fabric Cafe)

  • General sewing supplies for class (sewing machine in good working order, thread, rotary cutter and mat, rulers, iron & pressing mat, scissors/snips, pins, seam ripper, spare needles/bobbins)

  • ¼ inch foot

  • Cotton Thread (50wt Aurifil or 60wt Quilters Select in a light neutral color)
