The designer's story:
I consider myself very fortunate that I had a loving and secure childhood. My dad was in the army and my mom worked as a secretary on his army base. They met and got married in their early 20s, moving to Northeast Ohio, close to my paternal grandparents. My early Christmastime memories are of building snowmen, 1970s racer-striped snowsuits, and arranging my mom’s Gurley choir singer candles and other assorted knickknacks into a manteltop village. I had the idea to show some of my childhood winter and Christmas photos to celebrate the release of my first solo holiday collection - in going through them I was struck with just how much my creative universe is rooted in my 70s childhood!
